Batman: Brave and the Bold

I once read in an article that Batman: Brave and the Bold was a tribute to the Silver Age of the comic industry. I don't know if that is true. In my eyes, pretty much the entire history of comic books can be lumped together. Well, except for the new 52 series. But I can get on board with people wanting to see their stories in their full animated glory.

Batman: Brave and the Bold is campy, weird, odd, and downright silly. Season 1 seems more balanced with their origin introductions of various B-side heroes that you probably have never heard. Season 2 shows very independent Justice League stories that will include the main characters we grew up with and produce some unusual results with things like death, sacrifice, and hatred. Season 3 seems to throw everything out the window and tell brief stories of the craziest combination of characters you can think of. Looking back like any other series, the episodes are interwoven between the seasons. There just isn't a good way to come about defining what I liked or didn't. At first I thought about writing out the heroes/villains but the list is too massive.

There are some memorable, yet questionable, episodes. S2E25 had a Scooby-do Crossover while S3E9 had Space Ghost Coast-to-Coast Crossover. The wackiest character had to be S2E17 where, and I'm quoting the wiki, "Teaser: Batman teams up with the Haunted Tank to fight Ma Murder and her gang" and the villain yells, from the script, "Mother of pearl! A haunted tank driven by the ghost of jeb stuart!" S1E25 was kind of brilliant with Music Meister. S2E3 had the heroes and the villains compete in a car race. Oh, and don't forget in S2E9 where Batman plays the role as Superman in an alternate universe.

I find the 4th-wall break in the finale really brought home a good summary of what the show represented. It practically told exactly what everybody was thinking. Almost reminded me of the style of The Tick.
